Living Faith Weekly News (Week of September 3)

Living Faith was blessed with Pastor Jean leading our worship service on Sunday with Dave and Rich providing musical leadership! Thank you all for sharing your talents with us!

Last Week

Thank you, Pastor Jean, for presiding at worship and sharing your crossword puzzle sermon! Pastor Jean, do you do your crosswords in ink or pencil?!

Thank you to Dave Grosenheider and Rich Ziettlow for your preparation and leadership in our worship music! The music enhanced our worship so much!

Thank you to Peg McAllister for reading scripture and Kay Michaelson for serving communion.

Thank you to Tim Kass for ushering and Angela Catton for live streaming our service.

This Week

Join us in the Chapel at the Presbyterian United Church of Christ (858 7th Ave. SE) at 11:00 Sunday morning for worship! Each worship service includes the celebration of Holy Communion.

Kay Michaelson will read scripture and Kay Allen will assist with communion.

10:00 Faith + Fellowship Time meets in Room 103 at the PUCC. We spend time each week catching up on our week's happenings and then we take a look at the Gospel lesson for the day and discuss our thoughts on the lesson and what it means for our week ahead. Kay Michaelson has treats this week. Join us!

It's God's Work. Our Hands. Sunday! Living Faith will work to support Jim and Karen Schroeder as Karen heals from her fall.

The month of September has been filled by those willing to bring in a meal to the Schroeders twice a week. If meals are desired in the month of Otober, there will be a new sign up sheet for those days at that time.

In conjunction with God's Work. Our Hands, Living Faith, during the month of September, is collecting underwear for teens which will be donated to the Le Mars Community Middle School and High School's nurses' offices. "Drop your drawers" off in the white basket on the sign up table!

On Sunday afternoon, at 2:00 there is a worship service at St. John Lutheran, Craig in honor of Pastor Trish Underberg's 30th anniversary of her ordination!

Following the worship service, there will be refreshments at the park in Craig.

Living Faith is grateful for all the support Pastor Trish has shown us in the past year and a half!

Food insecurity exists in Le Mars and at one of our Faith + Fellowship times last winter, we discussed this topic. One of the ways Living Faith desired to help was to volunteer to pack the snack packs sent home each Friday to those in need in the LCS and Gehlen elementary schools.

We have been given the date of Tuesday, September 26 at 4:00 to do this service project. We will meet at the Nohava Construction building, 209 2nd St. SW. Enter the east facing door which is marked with a mural for the backpack program. Sign up to help with this service project on the sheet on the sign up table in the hallway across from the Chapel.

Christ in Our Home devotionals can be ordered by signing the sheet on the sign-up table and dropping $11 in the accompanying envelope for regular print and $15 for large print (make checks out to Kay Michaelson).

The first issue for January - March 2024 will arrive early - mid December.
