Thank you to Pastor Scott Egbers who has presided over worship for Living Faith theses past three Sundays! We have enjoyed getting to know him! Pastor Egbers shared his message from the Gospel reading of the day: Farmers who settled in Iowa, plowed up or turned over the grassy plains to plant new things - corn, oats, vegetables. Jesus is doing the same thing to us, He is turning us upside down to do a new thing in us. We may resist this such as we do with eating those vegetables that have been planted and harvested, but we know, deep down, that this is what is good for us.

Following worship on Sunday, February 9th, there will be a congregational meeting called to adopt a Constitution and Bylaws for Living Faith as a congregation in the Western Iowa Synod and ELCA. This action will replace the Synodically Authorized Worshiping Community Constitution we adopted in 2023.
Living Faith will be holding Faith & Fellowship in Room 103 this coming Sunday at 10:00 as the PUCC members will be gathering in the Fellowship Hall for their annual meeting. Tim Kass will have the coffee going and we will gather around the table for conversation and a preview of the Gospel lesson for the day!
Unfortunately, the Meet and Greet planned for last Sunday had to be canceled due to illness. The Leadership Team is working out a new date and time prior to February 16 to gather and share a meal together. Be watching your email for information when plans are in place!
A second Congregational Meeting is announced by the Leadership Team for Sunday, February 16th following worship.
Sunday, Super Bowl Sunday, is the last day of our canned soup drive for The Table food pantry here in Le Mars! It's your last chance to show who you are rooting for in the BIG game! Eagles fans and Cooper DeJean fans, you are needed! Chiefs fans, the 3-peat is in sight! The cans will be delivered to Rejoice! Church during the week of the 9th! Thank you to all for your generosity in desiring to feed those in our community who are hungry!
Thank you to Karen Schroeder, Kay Allen, and Ardis and Randy Boetger for helping to deliver last week! Kay Michaelson and Yvonne Law will be out and about next week on the South Route!
In 2024, Living Faith put out the Noisy Offering box on the fourth Sunday of each month. We gathered $155.99 for the year and on Sunday, Sleep in Heavenly Peace was drawn from several charity suggestions as the place this offering would go!
This ties in well with the service opportunity Living Faith has on February 22nd where a Sleep in Heavenly Peace Bed Build will take place here in Le Mars at Total Motors! There are 3 shifts for building that day: 9 - 11; 1 - 3 and 3:30 - 5:30. No specific skills are needed for what you will be doing and there will be people from the organization there who will show you what to do. This is an excellent service opportunity for Middle Schoolers, High Schoolers, and adults of any age!
Lutheran Men in Mission is meeting on Saturday, February 8th at 10:00 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Pomeroy, Iowa. Reverend Chip Borgstadt will give a presentation on the Faith Forward program. If you'd like to attend and would like more information about this organization, contact Mark Juhl at 540-1391.
