Living Faith Weekly News (Week of December 24)

The Peace Candle or the Angel's Candle glowed at our Christmas Eve service.

Last Week

On Christmas Eve, we gathered in the Chapel for a service with Pastor Joy Gonnerman. Thank you to Pastor Joy for providing our Christmas message! Thank you to Kjersten Rathke, Dawn Richards, Kay Allen and Tim Kass for contributing to our worship! Thank you also to Kari Kopperud for bringing in the beautiful poinsettias!

Children attending picked up a Happy Birthday, Jesus! gift bag and each family received a Christmas Nail Christmas ornament! Every year Living Faith intends to give out Christmas ornaments to our members - stop by the sign up table this coming Sunday to get your first ever Living Faith ornament - and there are a few candy canes left!

The Christ candle signifies the arrival of Christmas! Merry Christmas from Living Faith to all!

Next Week

Pastor David Halaas will help us ring out 2023 with worship on the First Sunday of Christmas at 11:15 in the Chapel. The Leadership Team will have special items of merriment to hand out to all for this New Year's Eve service! Yvonne Law will read Scripture for this service. If you would like to assist with serving communion, please let Kay know!

Get caffeinated by grabbing a cup of coffee and joining in the conversation in Room 103 at 10:15 on Sunday prior to our worship service. We will share highs and lows and discuss the Gospel lesson of the day! Let Kay know if you would like to provide treats for the hour!

Would you like to have the convenience of automated giving to Living Faith? Contact Kari Kopperud at kari.kopperud23@gmail.com and she can assist you with information to get this set up for you.

A few weeks ago, Eldon Bensen from Lutheran Services of Iowa came to Living Faith to share of his work there. He donated his pulpit supply payment to LSI and we received the following thank you: "Thank you for your generous donation of $221 to LSI in support of our mission to respond to the love of Jesus Christ through compassionate service. Through your support, LIS provides children and teens with 24-hour mental health services in our residential treatment center, Iowans of all ages with in-person or virtual therapy sessions and immigrants and former refugees with financial education through LSI's Match and Save Program....When you give a gift to LSI, you join thousands of others committed to helping LSI empower individuals, strengthen families, and build communities throughout Iowa. It is donors like you that help keep our mission alive. We wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. With gratitude, Sarah Green, Vice Presidentof Philanthropy and Church Relations"
